Systemic Treatments (treatment that works for the entire body) for urologic cancers have improved dramatically in recent years.  We now have a wide range of treatment options that are FDA-approved and can be given safely with very tolerable side effects.

Intravenous Treatments - Traditional chemotherapy drugs that are given intravenously remain a powerful treatment option for certain types of urologic cancers.  Here are some typical chemotherapy drugs that are used for common urologic cancers.  

Your medical oncologist will discuss further how these medications are given (dosing/frequency) and what common side effects are to be expected:
