Cancer Center of Excellence

Cancer isn’t the diagnosis it used to be.  Today – thanks to cutting-edge research and a variety of treatment options – many patients facing a cancer diagnosis can receive expert care and return to their normal lifestyle.  That is certainly true for Skyline Urology patients who seek highly specialized care provided by our cancer experts.

Skyline physicians offer a comprehensive approach to diagnosing, evaluating and treating four urologic cancers:

Prostate Cancer – There are no symptoms indicative of early-stage prostate cancer, which is why men are encouraged to follow recommended PSA-screening guidelines.  Therapies recommended for prostate cancer include active surveillance (also known as “watchful waiting), surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy or combinations of these therapies.

Bladder Cancer – Blood in the urine is the main symptom experienced by men and women with bladder cancer.  Sometimes the blood is visible, but most often it can only be seen through a microscope with state-of-the-art laboratory testing. Once diagnosed, therapies recommended for bladder cancer include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy or combinations of these therapies.

Kidney Cancer – Also referred to as renal cell cancer, kidney cancer is most often treated with surgery.  Additional treatment options include active surveillance, cryoablation, radiofrequency ablation and chemotherapy.

Testicular Cancer – Cancer of the testes is most commonly found in young or middle-aged men.  Surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy or combinations of these therapies are available to treat testicular cancer.  When detected early, usually through testicular self-exam, testicular cancer is 95% curable.
