Dr. Lam received both his BA in Natural Sciences/Public Health and his MHS in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins University.  He then received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he stayed for his internal medicine residency.  Dr. Lam then completed his subspecialty training in hematology and medical oncology at the Stanford University School of Medicine.  Prior to joining Skyline, Dr. Lam was previously a Clinical Instructor at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, and more recently, a Clinical Instructor within the Urologic Oncology group at the Stanford Cancer Center.  He has been involved in clinical trials for prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancers and his work has been published and presented at both the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meetings.

Dr. Lam is trained in both internal medicine and hematology/medical oncology.  He specializes in the use of immunotherapy and chemotherapy for the treatment of advanced (metastatic) urologic cancers.  Dr. Lam also has expertise in the management of cancer-related conditions (blood clots, anemia, fatigue, weight loss, pain, etc.) as well as the complications from hormonal therapy (hot flashes, bone loss, depression, etc.) and chemotherapy (nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, cytopenias, fevers/infections, etc.).  It is his goal to provide his patients with the most advanced and evidence-based treatments available.  He also understands that undergoing treatment for cancer is a difficult journey.  Dr. Lam is committed to helping his patients understand the risks/benefits of various treatment options, make informed decisions, and have the encouragement and support needed to remain hopeful despite difficult circumstances.

Dr. Lam was raised in Southern California but has lived in Baltimore, New York and Palo Alto.  He is excited to return to Southern California and to be a part of Skyline Urology where he can focus his practice on caring for those with advanced urologic cancers.
