BIOGRAPAHY

Dr. Chandrasoma received degrees in Biology, Creative Writing, and subsequently Medicine from the University of Southern California. He stayed on to do his urologic residency there, based at the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. He completed additional fellowship training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, gaining expertise in minimally invasive urology, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery and the endoscopic management of complex kidney stone disease.

 

 

Dr. Chandrasoma’s urologic areas of interest include kidney stones; benign prostatic enlargement; voiding dysfunction; erectile dysfunction; and cancers of the prostate, kidney, testicles, and bladder. He has a commitment to the minimally invasive management of these various conditions. He is a member of the American Urologic Association and other professional societies. He has authored chapters on cutting-edge urologic technology in numerous books, and has served as a book reviewer for the Journal of the American Medical Association. He additionally has numerous peer-reviewed journal publications to his name, and has presented on robotic surgery and endourology at various international conferences. 

 

 

Dr. Chandrasoma is committed to the empowerment of patients in their own medical care, and regards patient education as the basis for the determination of treatment plans. He views effective communication as a vital aspect of the doctor-patient relationship, allowing for informed, educated decision-making. His approach involves adapting to the health care needs of the individual patient, and implementing interventions with minimal invasiveness and maximal results. 

 

 

Dr. Chandrasoma enjoys cooking, music, film, and screenwriting. He is married with two adorable daughters.
